~STEP 3 - Choose a Dorm Room~

When you join Hogwarts-Castle, we require you to choose a bed in a dorm room in the house you were placed in. This is where all your character’s information will be kept, where your class list will be, where the Personal and House points that you’ve earned will be recorded, and where you can chat to friends and blog any of your progress within the club.

If you wish, you can join into a dorm room with a group of your friends (as long as you’ve all been accepted into the same house) if you want to do this, organize it with your friends and then continue with this process.

You will soon have a number of different views of your ‘dorm space’ to choose from (such as your bed from different angles, from side on, etc) but we recommend that unless you are willing to draw all your possessions from 2 separate views/pay to have someone else do it for you, that you choose the same view for your personal dorm space as is seen in the larger view of your dorm room from above, so that you only have to draw everything once.

If you wish to have a different view of your bed to work with, then you should wait afew weeks for it to be made, and then you can start drawing your character into the background.

~STEP 4 - Create your Student Character~

When creating your Hogwarts Student Character please do develop your character into a unique and personal representation of you. You can make it a completely realistic version of you as if you were invited to Hogwarts at age 11, or you can make your character look nothing like you at all, but remember that this face will be what represents you and your actions within the club.

Now, when I say ‘Unique’ character, I do not mean that your character has to have some amazing talent or rare characteristic. In fact we’d rather that your character could be considered normal please. I know that it’s likely that you want your character to be an unregistered animagus, or a metemorph or something, but think…what percentage of students would have some sort of special ability? 1 or 2% maybe. If everyone gives their character some amazing trait then we’d have a school full of misfits, wouldn’t we?!
If you desperately feel the need to give your character one of these abilities, then you will be able to earn the right to have the ability by trading an amount of PP for it. You can still consider yourself to have this special characteristic if you wish, but you must not tell anyone of it, it must remain a secret until you earn enough points to be recognized as such.

What was really meant by ‘unique’ character is that you can come up with an extensive personality and/or background for your character if you wish. Whether your character is pure-blood, half-blood or muggle born. What their family dynamic is. Whether they have any siblings within the school. Etc. again, this does not mean that your character is a descendant of one of the 4 founders, or related to the main HP characters in any way.

When you create your character ready to put in your dorm space, you are welcome to give them an obvious personal style, as long as you still have them wearing the proper school uniform.

This Character Bio will be placed in the description of your ‘Dorm Space’ Devination (you can add or take stuff from this list, or re-order it. This is just an example)

Full Name: (please try and make it more of a ‘wizarding world’ sounding name, not a modern name, unless of course you character is muggle norn)

DOB: (please make this the same as your real date of birth, then you may get some presents.
House: (the house the sorting hat put you in)
Wand: (what type of wand chose you from the olivanders wand quiz)
Blood Type: (Pure-Blood, Half-Blood, Muggle-Born)
Family Dynamic: (info about your characters current family/family history)
Personality: (a short paragraph about your characters personality, traits, and/or past experiences)
Pet(s): You may bring if you desire either an owl, a cat or a toad. (plus any other pets you have earned the rights to own)

~STEP 5 - Be Allocated your own Personal Dorm Space~

After you have done this, the club will note you back giving you a link to your new personal dorm space.
We will also provide you with a small sentence with this same link that you will be required to place in your personal devinent Signature (the little area that you can place writing in that appears under your comments) This is so that where ever you comment within the club there will be an easy to find link that leads straight to your dorm space so that you can be awarded points!


~STEP 6 - Becoming a Full Member~

To Become a Full Member you must create a fully digitally coloured Student Character to be placed in and around the Hogwarts-Castle Backdrops.

Idealy all characters will suit the backgrounds as much as possible, (so things don't look terribly cut and paste) there-for we ask that all characters be drawn with a thin black lineart and be coloured in digitally with some form of shading.

if you do not have the drawing/colouring skills to produce this character yourself, you can commission another member to do it, paying with real money, Personal-Points, or a combination of both.

At this point you may also want to create a customary boarder and ID window, where some of the personal info about your characters Bio can be kept. (this will help free up you dorms description area, which may become quite lengthy)
